Ancient Roman Makeup Evaluation

Ancient Roman Makeup Evaluation:

Makeup Design:

This makeup is an editorial makeup for a fashion magazine.

Makeup:

Evaluation:
This makeup would work for a magazine as I mixed liquid highlighter into the foundation and I didn't powder the face which gave the face a dewy finish, the face also didn't need to be powdered as the makeup wouldn't be worn for very long, however, this means the makeup wouldn't work for TV & film or theatre. I could make this work for film & TV by using a matte base and I could make this work for theatre by making the makeup more intense to allow it to be seen from a distance.

This makeup also fits the time period as the lips were matte and the eyes were very natural. The eyebrows were also very natural and the dots represent the eyebrows meeting in the middle.

However, this makeup wouldn't work as the eyes could've been a bit more glossy and more blush could've been used as it was very light. Also, the dots between the eyes were wonky and the lips were lightly uneven. The bun wasn't pinned which means it may have fallen out and the bun could've been higher to fit the time period more.

Peer Assessment: Caitlyn
The skin looks flawless and the eyeshadow is well blended, the hair is done well. Overall, this is a good interpretation of Roman editorial makeup.

However, in the future there could be more focus on the eyebrows and the dots between the eyebrows are slightly wonky. The bun could've been more secure to prevent the hair falling out and the bun could've been higher and more on the crown of the head to fit with the time period more.
