Seamless Wax Cut Painted With Grease Paints Evaluation
Seamless Wax Cut Painted With Grease Paints Evaluation:
Makeup Design and Scenario:
This makeup if for a TV series about the development of a serial killer.
A vet is cheating on his wife, she catches him and threatens to leave him so he ties her up and cuts her while his mistress laughs and takes pictures. The makeup is a photograph of a fresh laceration on her arm caused by a small knife.

Evaluation:
With this scenario, this makeup would be used in an 18 rated film or TV show, however, with a different scenario this makeup could be used in a PG 13 or 15 rated film. It would work as grease paints were used and they won't be affected by water as much as aqua paints paints meaning they will last longer. However, this makeup wouldn't work on stage or for an event as the details would be lost due to the distance. For continuity, a prosthetic could be used for the cut and I could also make this work for stage by using a thicker prosthetic and making the makeup more intense to allow it to be seen from a distance.
The wax is well blended which means the paint didn't cling to the edges which overall, makes the cut look more realistic. The blood also helps trick the eye and helps to cover ant visible edges. However, if I was to do this again I would use less grease paint and blend it more as it's too red which makes it obvious that it's makeup. I would also use less wax as it was too thick in the middle, I would use paint to give the cut depth.
