Victorian Makeup Evaluation

 Victorian Makeup Evaluation:

Makeup Design:

This makeup is for a documentary about the victims of Jack the Ripper, it talks about their lives and how they got to where they were. This is a close up of the face of his first victim.

Makeup:

Evaluation:

This makeup would work for film & TV as HD techniques and products were used and the edges of the wound were well blended which prevents the paint clinging to the edges which would ruin the illusion. Alcohol paints were used which means they will last longer as they won't be affected by water as much as aqua paints would be. The makeup is also anatomically correct and the wound is aged to fit the scenario.

For continuity, a prosthetic could be used for the cut and I could also make this work for stage by using a thicker prosthetic and making the makeup more intense to allow it to be seen from a distance.

However, to improve I could add more aged blood to the wound and add makeup to the chest area to make it look emaciated and aged to bring the look together. I could also style the hair more to fit the time period.
