These
makeups are for a film about a grunge couple and they are heroin addicts. This
is a film similar to ‘Trainspotting.’

Evaluation:
This makeup
works for film & TV as the makeup works under intense, artificial, and
natural lighting and it works well on camera. This look would also work for
editorial; however, this wouldn't work for stage as the makeup isn't intense
enough which means the details will be lost due to the distance, but I could make
it work for stage by making the makeup more intense which would allow it to be
seen.
This makeup
fits the time period as the colours used were accurate and the lips were a
matte brown, which was the most popular lipstick colour during this decade. The
hair was also accurate as people who were part of the grunge subculture with
longer hair often had their hair in space buns. I also didn’t use eyelashes as
the lashes were kept very natural and through research, I know learnt that only
mascara was used, I also made the foundation colours slightly lighter than the
natural shades. I also didn’t use eyeshadow for the men’s makeup as I smudged
the pencil eyeliner to make the look accurate.
However, to
improve I could maybe use a lighter brown lipstick to follow the trend of a
darker lip liner with a lighter lipstick and I could tame the baby hairs to make
the hair look slightly neater.

Assessment: Drew
Drew said
that my makeup was amazing and works amazingly well for a grunge ‘90s look and
that the hair, clothes and makeup represented the ‘90s perfectly, however, to
improve she said that I could make the eyebrows slightly thinner and add a cool
toned contour to the cheeks.
