Model's Face and Ear Cast

Image
Model’s Face and Ear Cast: I left the plaster to set in the mould overnight and when I demoulded the face cast, the nose hadn’t moulded properly due to my model becoming distressed about the alginate covering their nose, this meant moulding the face twice as they became too distressed the first time and sat up, but I can still see the general shape of the face. I will make another cast of the nose to help make nose prosthetics, and when I demoulded one of the ears, the edge snapped off, so I made another cast, and it worked this time. This is my face cast: These are my ear casts:

Making my Decision

27th January 2021: Making my Decision   To make my decision, I started to think about films I like and makeup artists I like then I started to write down some characters as ideas.  These are my initial ideas:  After writing down some ideas I wrote which makeups were realistic for me to achieve with the skills and knowledge I already have. This helped me narrow down the list further and I picked the makeup that would push me the most, but I made sure I still had another makeup I could do if my idea didn't work.  These are my notes on which makeups are practical for me to complete:  I concluded that I would complete the Night King from Game of Thrones who is a White Walker and then I would complete the Beetlejuice makeup if I was unable to complete the Night King's makeup.  These are my notes about my final decision:  Following a meeting with my tutors I started to think about different ways I could complete the makeup and began to plan how I would experiment with different techn

Developed 2000s Meningitis Makeup Evaluation

Developed 2000s – Meningitis Makeup Evaluation: Makeup Design: This makeup is for a film set in the early 2000s and a teenager catches meningitis, and it shows her recovery. This shows her rash, and she has a serios case of meningitis which meant that she had her arm amputated but the wound became infected and she still has a rash on her face like in the previous makeup. Makeup: Evaluation: This makeup works for film & TV as the makeup works under intense, artificial, and natural lighting and it works well on camera. The edges of the silicone were also well blended which meant that the paint didn’t cling to the edges and alcohol paints were used which means they will last longer as they won’t be affected by water as much as aqua paints would be which adds to the realism. I could use a silicone prosthetic for continuity purposes and CGI would be used to cover the rest of the arm rather than putting the arm inside a top. However, this wouldn't work for stage as the m

However, this wouldn't work for stage as the makeup isn't intense enough which means the details will be lost due to the distance, but I could make it work for stage by making the makeup more intense which would allow it to be seen. This look fits the time period as there was an outbreak of meningitis between 2000-2001 and this can cause a rash on different areas on the body such as the face and arms as shown in this makeup. However, to improve I could blend some of the areas

2000s Makeup Evaluation

2000s Makeup Evaluation: Makeup Design: This makeup is an editorial look for a lip gloss advert in a teenage magazine. Makeup: Evaluation: This makeup works for editorial as the makeup works under intense, artificial, and natural lighting and it works well on camera, editorial techniques were also used such as the different textures and the even skin tone. This look would also work for film & TV; however, this wouldn't work for stage as the makeup isn't intense enough which means the details will be lost due to the distance, but I could make it work for stage by making the makeup more intense which would allow it to be seen. This look fits the time period as the eyeshadow colour and application was accurate, the lips were very glossy and the blush was very intense, bronzer was also used to give the face a warm glow. The hair was also accurate as lots of people had very straight hair during this decade. However, to improve I could use slightly more bronzer ar
