Finishing Sculpting:

I spent Thursday and Friday to finish my sculpting which included the rest of the sculpting on the face cast, the ears, nose, and neck pieces.

After completing my sculpting, I began making my prosthetics.

  Final Makeup Write Up: 11 th May 2021: Today, after all of my preparation and hard work, I was finally able to use my practical skills to create my final makeup. This is my final look: These are some photos of my process:  Evaluation: This makeup translated onto the face really well and looked how I had imagined it; grease and alcohol paints were used which means that the makeup would last longer if needed and there’s no chance of the makeup sweating off like aqua paints would which is very important for this look as any inconsistencies would be very obvious and would ruin the look. The colours were also the colours I had hoped for and the light complimented the colours extremely well.    The hair was also how I had imagined it and the curls weren’t too tight, I had also backcombed the hair so that it helped support the crown during the final photos. The Tudors and The Restoration Research

 26th September 2020 The Tudors and The Restoration: Henry VIII was the king of England from 1509 until he died in 1547 and he during his reign he had 6 wives. The first was Catherine of Aragon, they were married in 1509 and they had a daughter in 1516, who was Mary I. Henry and Catherine were married for 23 years until Henry divorced her as she didn’t provide him with a male heir. The Roman Catholic Church refused to approve the divorce, so Henry created the Church of England (History, 2020). This also caused lots of riots all over the country.   Catherine of Aragon, Imagno/Getty Images Henry’s second wife was Anne Boleyn, they were married in 1533 and Anne gave birth to their first child, who was Elizabeth I, in September that same year. 1940s Research

  1940s Research: The second World War started in 1939 and came to an end in September 1945, resulting in men and boys as young as 16 being sent to fight in the war, this meant that women were left at home and more women were going to work, they would work in the shops and factories while the men were away. Millions of lives were lost during the war with one of the biggest tragedies being the Holocaust which resulted in the mass genocide of 6 million Jews (History, 2009). Due to working during the war, women didn’t prioritise makeup however, it was still used. Due to rationing there wasn’t many products available meaning women had to be creative and often returned to using old techniques which were seen as outdated, but they were also referred to as being better than nothing. These substitutes included “burnt cork for mascara, cochineal or beetroot juice for lipstick, bi-carbonate of soda for deodorant and gravy browning for leg tint” (Hair and Makeup Artist Handbook, 2013).
