Finishing Making Prosthetics & Makeup Practice

Image
Finishing Making Prosthetics & Makeup Practice: 26 th April 2021: Today, I used my practical skills to create the flat moulds for the other eyebrow and the cheeks, using these I then made my prosthetics, I have decided to use silicone as I evaluated the uses of both and it blends into the skin a lot better, and it gives a more seamless and realistic finish than latex does as latex can often create little bumps when blending. After I created these prosthetics, I just needed to let the paint dry on my crown and all of the prep work is complete which shows excellent time management skills and organisation skills as I had followed the original timeline I had created, sometimes I was even ahead of schedule. These are the rest of the prosthetics: 27 th April 2021: As I had finished all of my prep work, I used my practical skills when I decided that I would practice my makeup to see if I would change anything and to see how my prosthetics fit on the face. Calendar Meeting & Meeting with the Photographer

Calendar Meeting & Meeting with the Photographer 26 th April 2021: Today we had a production meeting about the calendar that I had previously arranged through teams, this showed good leadership skills: During this meeting I demonstrated my communication skills excellently as I discussed looking at the Kryolan calendars and the size of them, I then asked what size everyone else had thought about for the calendar, finally, we all agreed that it would be landscape and A3 so each individual page would be A3 and when opened to show both the photo and the calendar it would be A2 in total. I also wanted to discuss backgrounds, we talked about everyone having the same background, but I decided to mention that in my opinion, I didn’t think this would work as everyone’s makeups are so different. I suggested the idea of everyone having their own backgrounds as this would mean we could make it compliment our makeup looks, everyone agreed and started to think about ideas for our own

Photography Research and Thinking About the Final Photograph

Image
Photography Research and Thinking About the Final Photograph: Photography Research: Photographs for calendars can be in the form of: (Day Pilot, No Date) ·          BMP ·          GIF ·          JPEG ·          PNG ·          PDF ·          TIFF The 2 best types of image files are PNG and JPEG/JPG, the main positive of using a JPG is the ratio of the compression and quality which is 10:1 or 20:1, however, every time the image is compressed, some data is lost, and this cannot be recovered (Flat Icone,2019). The main positive of a PNG is that no data is lost which means it can be edited and saved without losing any data so the quality will always stay the same, however, they’re usually a lot bigger than PJG files, it also lacks support for EXIF data (Flat Icons, 2019). The file type that provides the highest quality if TIFF files as they’re uncompressed, but PNG files also don’t lose any quality when compressed so they are the best file types for high quality imag

Prosthetic and Prop Making

Prosthetic and Prop Making: 19 th April 2021: Today, after giving my presentation, I continued to demonstrate my practical skills by sculpting and creating prosthetics, I created the sculpt for my right eyebrow prosthetic, I then created flat moulds to create latex and silicone prosthetics.  Flat moulds are used to create prosthetics which can be used for a variety of looks but flat moulds are mostly used to create wounds as they are often better for beginners when making prosthetics (Gorton Studios, No Date). Out of the kit work can be very hard to get the same every time the makeup is needed so prosthetics are used to give as they are all moulded using the same mould which makes it easier to get it the same and photographs are used to get the position the same as continuity is one of the most important factors in film along with realism. This also makes it easier to create larger pieces, for example, the pieces used in Planet of the Apes (The Iver Makeup Academy, 2018). I al

Developed Ideas Presentation and Evaluation

Image
Developed Ideas Presentation and Evaluation: 19 th April 2021: Today I used my communication skills to present my developed design: I also discussed experimentation from the previous week and how this influenced my developed design: This is a hard copy of my script that was used when presenting my developed design and my experimentation:  These are the notes of what I said during my presentation:  For my developed design I decided to change some elements completely, the stinger in the hair has been changed to a crown of stingers which represents the animal, and it includes another positive personality trait which is that Scorpio’s are good leaders. There’re also 8 stingers because 8 is one of the lucky numbers for a Scorpio. I also changed the mouth to include another personality trait; this is that scorpios can be very secretive so the zip represents that, I still wanted to have the contrast of the red skin and bright blue so the zips blue, I’ve decided to attach an actua

Starting the Experimentation Process & Prosthetics

Image
Starting the Experimentation Process & Prosthetics: 13 th April 2021 Today I used the practical skills I have to start to experiment different elements of my look and I started to experiment with different ways I could create the tears for my look, I was aware that I would most likely use silicone, but I wanted to try different techniques so that I could evaluate each technique to see which I liked the most and which was the most practical. I tried using just silicone: I really liked this as I thought it looked like tears, but I felt as though it could’ve been shinier to give a more realistic appearance which will allow the camera to pick up on the easier as the final look will be mostly matte.  I then tried adding glycerin on top of the silicone to give it shine: I really liked this result, and it gave me the result I had imagined in my head, from a distance it looked quite realistic, but it was also clearly seen, and it showed up well on camera, this would work becau
