Production 6- Helping first years – Filmed Pantomime: 3 rd December 2020: Today the makeup artists went into college as normal, but the first years were doing makeup for a filmed pantomime, they were very far behind schedule so me and a couple of the other second years put ourselves forward, I looked at the designs and completed a straight makeup. When doing this makeup, I used HD products as the makeup would be shown on camera and I also took into consideration the lighting as it would be filmed on stage meaning that the lighting would be artificial and very intense, this meant that I used a darker shade of foundation to prevent the face looking washed out and the makeup didn’t need to be too intense as it wasn’t shown from a far distance. The base was flawlessly blended and even, and the makeup worked under intense, artificial, and natural lighting. When completing this makeup, I followed government guidelines by wearing a medical mask and visor and I avoided touching the face

Production 5 - Short film - A few inches off the top: 18 th November 2020: We did not have any planning for this short film, the makeup team were getting ready to do the makeup for the filmed pantomime and 2 actors came into the room asking for makeup for the film. Lucie and I put ourselves forward for the makeup and I completed Freddie’s makeup, this consisted of a HD makeup. When completing this makeup, I followed government guidelines by wearing a medical mask and visor and I avoided touching the face with my hands as much as possible. The makeup was shown on camera under natural and artificial lighting and it worked well as he looked as though he had no makeup on. I also demonstrated good organizational and hygiene skills as I had a clean and tidy makeup bay, and I used the cut away method for every product that was used, I also demonstrated good communication skills by speaking to my performer to make them feel comfortable. Completing this makeup without any planning shows

1970s Makeup Evaluation

1970s Makeup Evaluation: Makeup Designs:  This makeup is a recreation of Andrea Hall for a film about the Toolbox Killers, she was their second victim and Bittaker had taken polaroid pictures of her before throwing her body off a cliff. She had her mouth taped then she was raped multiple times before being stabbed in both ears with an ice pick and she was finally murdered by being strangled to death which means she has finger bruises and hand marks on her neck. This shows the before and after effects of the attack.  Makeup: Before the attack  Evaluation:  This makeup works for film & TV as the makeup works under intense, artificial and natural lighting and it works well on camera. However, this wouldn't work for stage as the makeup isn't intense enough which means the details will be lost due to the distance, however, I could make this work for stage by making the makeup intense enough to be seen from a distance.  This makeup fits the time period as the colours used were

Production 4 – Filmed Pantomime – Babes in the Woods: 2 nd December 2020: Today was the last day of filming for the pantomime and I wanted to contribute to the makeups in some way as I was unable to do any other makeups as I was unwell but today I portrayed a can-do attitude and remained professional to do 2 makeups for the final scene. 4 actors needed their makeups doing today so Emily and I put ourselves forward to complete these makeups. I used photographs of the looks that were completed by other makeup artists to make sure that the makeups looked the same for continuity purposes. I completed the makeup for Block and this makeup consisted of straight makeup with very rosy cheeks and some dirt on his face and neck. When doing this makeup I used HD products as the makeup would be shown on camera and I also took into consideration the lighting as it would be filmed on stage meaning that the lighting would be artificial and very intense, this meant that I used a darker shade of

1970s Experimental Work Evaluation: Makeup Design:  This is a recreation of Andrea Hall for a film about the Toolbox Killers, she was their second victim and Bittaker had taken polaroid pictures of her before throwing her body off a cliff. She had her mouth taped then she was raped multiple times before being stabbed in both ears with an ice pick and she finally died while being strangled. This is to try different blood applications and to try to control the running mascara.  Makeup:  Evaluation:  The blood flowed really nicely and the mascara had started to run which means that it's accurate as it appears that she is bleeding from her ears and that she is crying.  However, to improve I could use an arterial blood as this is the blood in the ear and is lighter than venous blood which would improve the accuracy and I could use a black water colour for the running mascara to make it run easier. I could also remove some mascara from the eyelids to prevent it covering the whole eyeli
